Rev. Josh Bell was appointed as Lead Pastor of Spring of Life in July 2014. Pastor Josh was born and raised in Crestview, FL. He is a native Floridian and lifelong United Methodist. He is a graduate of the University of Florida and Asbury Seminary. Pastor Josh and his wife, Katie, met while they were serving on Student Staff at University UMC (now Gator Wesley) in Gainesville. They were married in 2008 and have three sons, John David (born in 2011), Joseph (born in 2013) and Jacob (born in 2016).
Joel joined the staff in 2017. Joel is originally from North Dakota and obtained a Bachelors Degree in Accounting. He has over 20 years working in financial and leadership roles for non profit and government institutions, including ELCA Western ND Synod and Wycliffe Bible Translators. Joel has volunteered in many capacities with Spring of Life UMC, Wycliffe, Lake Nona High School and as a Board Member for Turtle Lake Memorial Hospital Association. He is married to Kristie and has two grown daughters pursuing college degrees. In his free time he enjoys music, concerts, college sports and traveling.
Jessica Bickford has over thirteen years experience in early childhood development. She loves children’s passion for learning and their genuine love for Jesus. She has been married for fifteen years to her best friend, Brad. They have two wonderful children together, Caitlyn and Cody. Their family also consists of fur babies and not-so-fur babies; they have three cats, two dogs, plus a snake, a bearded dragon, and some fish. Her hobbies consist mostly of running, sewing, and baking. She attends Friends Community Church in Orlando.
Holly Eby joined Spring of Life as Children’s Ministry Director in July, 2016. She is an Orlando native who brings 15 years of experience working in Children’s Ministry in a United Methodist Church. She has a passion for children’s ministry and has served on numerous boards with various organizations in multiple leadership positions. Her current volunteer work includes serving as an education docent at the Orlando Museum of Art and in the classroom of her daughter’s second grade class. Holly has been married to her high school sweetheart Kevin for more than 30 years. They have two grown up children, Savannah and Randy.
Katie Bell has eight years of experience teaching high school students as well as many years of ministry experience. She is a graduate of the University of Florida and of Vanderbilt University where she obtained a Master’s Degree in Secondary Education. In college, Katie served as a youth director for a local church and was a key leader in her campus ministry at UF. She served as the faculty sponsor for Fellowship of Christian Athletes and she helped lead a high school mission trip to the Dominican Republic. She currently serves on the Discipleship Committee and has facilitated numerous Bible studies at Spring of Life and in other settings. She has a passion for encouraging people to grow in their faith, and she loves working with teenagers. Katie is a lifelong Methodist who grew up in the Orlando area. Katie is married to Pastor Josh, and they have three sons, John David, Joseph, and Jacob.

Brittany Hawthorne joined the Spring of Life Staff in 2013. Prior to that, she worked as a music therapist, music educator, and session vocalist in the NYC area. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Theory and Composition from the University of Miami. Brittany and her husband Ash have a daughter, Eloise (born 2014), and are expecting their second child in February 2017.
Shirley began serving as Financial Treasurer at Spring of Life in the fall of 2002. She has continued to do so after a brief hiatus in 2009/10. She was born in the island city-state of Singapore, attended college at West Virginia Wesleyan, and graduate school at the University of Miami. She is married to Randy and has twin sons, Ryan and Shaun; a daughter, Lianne and a new son-in-law, Ryan Hurtado.
